He was a modern day Yogi

(November 18, 1888 – February 28,1989) who taught:

B.K.S. Iyengar (Iyengar Yoga),

Indra Devi (bought Yoga to South America)

T.V.K. Desikahar (his son, founder of the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, in Chennai, India) and

Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (Ashtanga Yoga + Karuna's guru)

Following in the tradition of Krishnamacharya, her guru's guru,

Karuna believes in adapting the

Yoga practice to the individual,

rather than fit the student

into a group class.
